#IS IT EASY TO USE LINUX ON A MAC FOR ANDROID#

I have developed for Android on Windows, macOS, and Linux (yes, really!). The fact that Android happens to be based on Linux doesn't mean anything. Android and desktop Linux have very little in common with each other. Since they're both based on the same operating system (OS X)Īnd it's easy to connect between a Macbook and IPhoneĬan the same be said for Android and Linux distros since Android is based on Linux?Ĭertainly not. It has nothing to do with the merits of macOS itself (though macOS does have its perks).Īnd before people chime in with "You can use on Windows/Linux/NotMac", recall that Xcode build tools are only available on macOS and while you can write an app outside of macOS, you cannot compile, test, or package it, so don't get your hopes up. The only reason I own a 2015 MacBook Pro is because I needed one to write iPhone apps. You can't really say that macOS is better for developing iOS apps because there's literally nothing else to compare it to. If there were a way to develop macOS/iOS/watchOS/tvOS apps outside of the Apple platform, most people would probably use it, and we wouldn't have to buy a Mac computer in the first place. MacOS is the "better platform" because Apple mandates it. Similar to how MacOS is a better platform to develop IOS Apps
